Teufel announces Motiv 2 Mk2 2.1

Christopher Fredriksson

Berlin, 05.09.2013 - With the Motiv 2 Mk2, Berlin hifi specialists Teufel present a technologically advanced, fully active 2.1 loudspeaker set that is equally suited to use with a PC, gaming system, or as an alternative to a soundbar. Elegant satellite loudspeakers with bi-amping technology and coaxial drivers produce an impressive sound. The subwoofer is equipped with 5 output stages along with two digital and two analogue inputs for routing signals from computers, televisions, and gaming consoles.

The satellite speakers and subwoofer feature an elegantly rounded form with a silver and white colour scheme that subtly enhances any desktop or living room. High-quality technical features enable a wide range of connectivity with game consoles, multimedia systems, and computers. The Motiv 2 Mk2 also makes a discrete but powerful alternative to a soundbar for enhancing television and movie sound.

Sophisticated Technology
A 2.5 cm aluminium dome tweeter together with a 10 cm combined midrange/bass driver divide the workload of sound reproduction in the two satellites. The coaxial arrangement of the drivers makes the Motiv 2 Mk2 a truly flexible system by creating greater phase alignment and good dispersion. This allows the speakers to be placed in a variety of different positions such as directly next to your PC or several meters away alongside of your flat screen TV with equally good results. Each of the satellites' two transducers is powered by its own amplifier without any passive components blocking the signal path.

Well-thought out Details Incorporated into the Design
Teufel developers placed a great deal of attention to ergonomics in the form and function of the Motiv 2 Mk2. "The system can be controlled via a panel on the subwoofer or by a remote," explains Teufel developer Christoph Winklemeier. "A switch allows the satellite speakers to be placed in either a free standing arrangement or up against a wall. The back of the subwoofer is designed in such a way as to allow it to be hung directly on a wall." In this way, the Motiv 2 Mk2's design allows it to be easily integrated into any office or living room.
