Lyon, France - April 14th, 2016 - BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe have today announced the release of the mobile game "ASTERIX AND FRIENDS", developed by Sproing and based on the most famous Gaul of all times! The game will initially soft-launch in Canada, Austria and Switzerland on both iOS and Android platforms, with the global release expected later in the year. Over 2 Million players are already playing "ASTERIX AND FRIENDS" on Facebook and with the launch of the mobile game, a lot of new players are expected to join in on the fun!

In "ASTERIX AND FRIENDS", players are in charge of building their own Gaulish village, embarking on an epic adventure, exploring the world, joining forces with their friends to create powerful guilds and fight back the Roman army. Players will complete funny and challenging quests while making their way through numerous Roman legions and camps to finally reach Egypt with Asterix, Obelix, Dogmatix, and other new and classic characters! The mobile version features all the huge content of the web version and later in the year, players will be able to cross-play between Facebook and mobile.

"The Asterix characters speak to the heart of every kid, whether young or grown-up. With this game, we are giving players a way to immerse themselves in this magic universe on a daily basis, wherever they are, which is just awesome!" said Massimo Caporale, Producer and Product Owner at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe.

"The concept of the game is just a perfect fit for mobile devices. Finally being able to defend your village from everywhere and teach the Romans a lesson several times a day – who wouldn’t like that? It’s also nice that we could include our home country Austria in the soft-launch alongside Canada and Switzerland. We are looking forward to the user feedback and expect the game to be received very well." said Harald Riegler, CEO of Sproing.
